THE OPPORTUNITY

LHH Knightsbridge has been retained to recruit a dynamic and accomplished executive to serve as President for NPM, a rapidly growing mining company. This exciting opportunity is ideal for a visionary leader with strong operational expertise, a proven track record in field operations, and a deep commitment to integrity and excellence. The company is poised to expand its market presence in the mining industry, with a strategic focus on Bolivia.


Reporting directly to the CEO, the President will play a pivotal role in defining and executing the organization's strategic vision, building cohesive and high-performing teams, and ensuring alignment with both short-term operational objectives and long-term strategic goals. Fluent in Spanish, the successful candidate will serve as the organization’s principal representative in Bolivia.

The President will collaborate closely with the CEO, operating in a leadership model that fosters synergy and shared decision-making. This partnership allows for more informed and agile responses to complex challenges, delivering benefits to both employees and shareholders.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership

  • Collaborate with the CEO to define and execute the organization’s long-term strategic vision.
  • Translate corporate strategies into actionable goals for various departments.
  • Monitor progress toward strategic milestones and adjust tactics as needed.
  • Develop and implement organizational structures that align with strategic objectives.
  • Oversee cross-functional collaboration to maintain a unified organizational focus.
  • Develop risk management frameworks that anticipate and mitigate potential challenges.
  • Serve as the organization’s principal representative in Bolivia and support the CEO globally.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, enhancing visibility and influence.

Operational Oversight

This role demands strong leadership in managing complex mining operations while maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and community collaboration. Key operational responsibilities include:

  • Oversee field operations in Bolivia.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess operational performance and address challenges.
  • Develop and maintain performance management systems to monitor operations.
  • Ensure adherence to operational timelines and production targets.
  • Oversee the permitting process, ensuring compliance with Bolivian and international regulations.
  • Manage operational budgets, ensuring cost control and efficiency.
  • Foster innovation in operational methodologies to drive efficiency.
  • Collaborate with local communities, contractors and suppliers to streamline operations.
  • Establish and enforce safety protocols to protect employees and the environment.

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of expertise and leadership experience in mining, particularly in challenging and diverse environments like Bolivia. This includes:

  • Minimum 15 years of leadership experience in mining, with a focus on mine development and open pit operations.
  • Proven ability to manage complex field operations and large, diverse teams.
  • Expertise in navigating South American mining regulations and practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with fluency in Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to navigate cultural nuances and build strong relationships with local stakeholders.
