The Senior Manager, Research Communications, co-reports to the Senior Executive Officer, and indirectly to the University's Chief Communications and Marketing Officer. The incumbent is accountable for developing and implementing strategic communications, public relations, and marketing plans for the VPRI division that align with and is reflective of the university's strategic research plan and consistent with the University brand. The incumbent champions the development and promotion of a strong and effective identity for VPRI and York research, aligned with the University's brand and values, spotlighting the important and ground-breaking research being undertaken by York University researchers through a variety of internal and external communications channels. The Senior Manager, Research Communications, maintains a collaborative and close working relationship with the University's central C&PA division, ensuring that efforts are complimentary, synergistic, and aligned with the broader University strategic objectives and communications plans.



To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:

Education:

* Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.



Experience:

* Minimum 7 years' experience in progressively responsible and related positions with demonstrated experience in strategic communications and operating within a brand framework.


* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with partner groups to influence and provide strategic communications advice, counsel, and support.


* Demonstrated experience in developing communication plans and tactics, including digital marketing plans.


* Project management experience required.
